The 3rd meeting of the KA220 Gastronomia project coordinated by Cullera Municipality (Valencia-Spain) was hosted by Karamürsel Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Teachers, municipality representatives and representatives from non-governmental organisations from Spain, France and Bulgaria participated in the 2-day project activities. On the first day of the visit, Karamürsel Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Food and Beverage Services Area Chef Emel Uzun Erdal made a presentation on Vocational Education in Turkey and Vocational Education in Gastronomy. Then TRYP by Wyndham Hotel Executive Chef Sami Özçelik made a presentation about Turkish Gastronomy. In addition to the international participants, District Director of National Education Mr Murat Çakır, school principals, teachers and students attended the seminar. The seminar was also broadcast live on the school’s social media accounts. After the seminar, Executive Chef Sami Özçelik, Sous Chefs Abdullah Bağış and Mert Uçar, Chef de Parties Ünal Bingöl and Eray Özcan performed a live chef performance at Karamürsel Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Food and Beverage Services Application Workshop. The guests had the opportunity to see Turkish dishes, the ingredients used, cooking techniques and presentation closely and to taste the flavours of traditional Turkish Cuisine.
On the 2nd day of the visit, transnational project meeting was held in the meeting hall of Karamürsel Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and the next steps of the project were discussed. The guests also had the chance to visit the classrooms and see the education and training activities implemented in the classrooms within the scope of the project.
Within the scope of the project, Karamürsel Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School teachers and students will visit France-Corsica in March and Bulgaria-Plovdiv in April. The closing meeting of the project will be held in Cullera (Valencia-Spain) in June, hosted by the coordinating institution.
